MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME

We are launching a new mentorship programme where each year we will offer FREE guidance and support to one artist in Ireland who is either female, a person of color, a member of the Traveller Community, a refugee or identities as LGBTQIA+. You may be familiar with the data reports from ‘Why Not Her?’ detailing the massive gender and racial disparity in Irish radio over the years. Some radio stations have been improving on this since the initial reports came out but many have stayed the same and the vast majority of radio play still favours male/white/cisgender/heterosexual artists by a mile. Radio play of course is only one metric which represents the disparity within the Industry. You can read the reports and learn more at https://whynother.eu/media

As a queer female artist, I know how difficult the industry can be to navigate and how important it is to have a solid support network within the music industry to succeed despite the odds.

Both of us count ourselves incredibly lucky to have had particular experiences where an artist we admired chose to help us out when they didn’t have to and it totally changed the game for us. We want to be able to pay it forward. The mentorship will involve tailored guidance sessions and general support throughout the course of the year as well as the opportunity to come on tour as our opening act. Any performance opportunities with us will be paid.

We are launching this new mentorship programme alongside our new Patreon and while this is not a Patreon exclusive programme (you don’t have to be a patron to apply for the mentorship), Patreon is what allows us to offer our time to this mentorship.

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED

THE SUCCESSFUL ARTIST WILL BE INFORMED MID JANUARY 2023
